What is C.B.T and how does it work?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that helps people change the way they think and process events in order to feel better. It’s a form of talk therapy that focuses on the specific problems a person is facing, and the potential causes thereof.

A CBT therapist will work with you to identify and change negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that are contributing to your distress. This means talking about, digging into, identifying, and understanding any past experiences that may have led to your current state today, and then work with you to move forward from these.

For example, if you are struggling with anxiety, a CBT therapist will endeavour to help you recognize and challenge thoughts that are causing excessive worry, ask questions to help you get to the root of this current mental state, and teach you techniques and strategies that help you move forward.

CBT can be used to help with a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress and more.
